No. Physiotherapists are primary practitioners, so you can book directly with us without seeing a GP first. If you have been referred by a GP or specialist, bring the referral and any scans or reports to your first appointment. A referral is only needed if you are claiming through Medicare, WorkCover or the TAC.
Every session at Core is led by a qualified physiotherapist, including our group programs. That means clinical reasoning behind every exercise rather than a generic class plan. Our Functional Physio and Clinical Pilates sessions are capped at four people and run on Balanced Body equipment, so you get genuine individual attention. We focus on understanding you first: your body, your history and your goals, then build strength, stability and confidence through evidence-based care and movement, with outcome measures tracked so progress is something we can show you.
Yes. We have extensive experience supporting people with persistent pain, hypermobility, post-surgical recovery, neurological conditions and long-standing injuries that have not responded to other treatment. Our approach is paced, individualised and focused on long-term progress rather than quick fixes. For complex presentations we usually start with the extended 60 minute assessment so there is time to understand the full picture, and we track outcome measures so you can see change over time.
Your first visit is a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment. For a straightforward acute injury, the 30 minute Initial Physio Assessment is usually enough. If you have multiple issues or a complex condition, or you want to start Functional Physio or Clinical Pilates, book the Extended 60 Minute Assessment. Either way we take a full history, assess how you move, explain what we think is going on, and begin treatment in the same session. You will leave with a clear plan and a realistic idea of how many sessions to expect.
Yes, and most people get both. Depending on what you need, treatment may include hands-on manual therapy, joint and soft tissue techniques, exercise-based rehabilitation, or a combination of all three. We use the right approach at the right time rather than relying on one method: hands-on work to settle symptoms and restore movement, then progressive loading to build the strength that stops it returning.
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and movement-related conditions: lower back, hip and pelvic pain, sports and spinal injuries, tendinopathies, TMJ and jaw pain, headaches and neck pain, and postural dysfunction. We also support people through post-surgical rehabilitation, persistent and complex pain, neurological conditions, osteopenia and osteoporosis, pregnancy and post-natal care, and balance and mobility for older adults. We see children and elite athletes alike. If you are not sure whether we can help, call us on 03 9523 8111 and we will point you in the right direction.
Yes. We offer HICAPS, so if you hold private health insurance with the relevant extras cover you can claim on the spot. This applies to Physiotherapy, Functional Physio (1:4), Physio:8, Pre and Post Natal services. The exact rebate depends on your fund and level of cover, so call our reception team on 03 9523 8111 to check what you will be eligible for.
