Clinical Pilates Melbourne

Currently, we do not offer any ‘Clinical Pilates’ sessions, as our staff are all qualified physiotherapists as well as certified pilates instructors, so please join our Functional Physio classes!

The good news is, this means that you can receive medicare (EPC through your GP) or private health care rebates on all of our sessions.

What is Clinical Pilates?

Pilates is known for being one of the safest and most efficient ways to stretch, strengthen and rehabilitate your body, without building bulk or stressing your joints. At Core, Clinical Pilates classes are a personalised Pilates program that address your specific needs and goals. Our Clinical Pilates classes are taken by qualified pilates instructors and are capped at four people, so you have an expert guiding you for your whole session. This means that the classes are tailored exactly for you.

Clinical Pilates focuses on addressing YOUR needs and the overall benefits of improvement in posture, balance, coordination, strength, breathing and flexibility. The smaller class size and use of different equipment (including Trapeze Table, Ladder Barrel, Wunda Chair, MOTr, Baby Arc + plenty more props) means that you spend 50 minutes completely nurturing your body with a program designed for
your needs.

Yet they continue with Clinical Pilates for the massive benefits they see to their overall health and well-being. Clinical Pilates classes become a part of their regular routine, an important part of their weekly exercise and more importantly, for the mental benefits they see as well. The intimate classes mean that you form a relationship with your Pilates Instructor who will know your body and what you need. They know when you need to be pushed further, when you need to take it back and how you need to move to get to where you want to go.

Is Clinical Pilates for me?

During your Pilates Initial Assessment, you will have a musculoskeletal appraisal by one of our highly skilled and experienced team. Your clinician will then begin to design your personalised Pilates program, based upon your needs, goals and/or injuries.

After your Pilates Initial Assessment, you will generally require two to three one-on-one sessions, to continue to work through and develop your program. During these sessions you will learn the principles of Pilates and your instructor will guide you through the exercises designed for your needs. These one-on-one sessions allow the instructor to educate you on technique and body awareness.

The qualified pilates instructor will then determine your progression to one of our 1 on 4 sessions. There are a maximum of 4 people in each class, with each individual working through their personally tailored program and exercises.

Your instructor will pay very close attention to your needs, ensuring you perform the exercises correctly, to gain optimum results. The small class size allows your experienced instructor to continue to give YOU focused attention, guiding you through your exercises and addressing any injury or body issues you may be working to improve.

Our team is continuously learning the latest techniques and science-based approaches so that you can benefit directly. This means you will never get bored, repeating the same exercises over and over again. Prepare to move, prepare to learn, prepare to see results, prepare to have fun but most of all, prepare to feel good!
